Life can be complex. It can through many curves as most of us have experienced. I have always loved to tell stories. Before I could write, I can vividly remember making up stories; then confidently communicating them to other kids in my neighborhood. Reading however, got off to a slow start. Finally by the time I was in the later part of my second grade year, I began to ‘catch up’ with my reading skills. It was then that I developed a great love for books. Biography, mystery, story books, genre did not matter; I just loved stories. The first story I remember putting on paper was a short story assignment in the forth or fifth grade. It was about a dog in the snowy wilderness.
I have always been a thinker. My mind is constantly going. I have journaled off and on since childhood. In troubled times, I found myself using pen and paper to expound on things I experienced in my life. It helped me sort through my feelings, and make needed decisions. With expressing struggles, came some peace and the ability to think through difficulties. Perhaps not having siblings and spending time alone was what motivated me to express myself through writing; alleviating boredom.
After high school, I continued for a year to get my Certificate for Medical Assistant. You see, I had fallen in love and could not wait to be out of school and begin my life as young wife. Before long our children came along and my time was filled with family and the associated responsibilities. In 1996, we became a home-schooling family, we just thought life was busy before that. By November, 2005 our home-schooling journey had come to an end and both of my children were married. Between 1996 and January 2006, our family experienced the deaths of three of the most influential people in my life. I was now 44 years old, it was now time to begin to think about my next phase of life.
Eleven months later the next phase began as I became a first time grand mother. In the years between December 2006 and July 2014, we were blessed with six more beautiful grand babies! Today they range between the age of 18 months old and 9 years old. There is nothing better in life than enjoying time with these precious souls and their parents!
Somewhere around 2011, my husband started encouraging me to pursue writing. He knew that it had been dream of mine. He was a bit relentless in his enthusiasm and in August, I finally decided to give it a try. Living In His Grace was birthed August 30, 2011. My intended purpose was to have a blog celebrating the Christian walk; a journey in knowing who we are as believers in Christ; the grace for our lives which is found in Him; and last but not least to leave a faith legacy for my beloved family and anyone else who God draws.
I wanted to thank you for the blog, I find your thoughts helpful and a blessing and have nominated you for a Blogger Recognition Award. Enjoy!
